About the Bible
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people and the Divine and final authority and guidebook for all Christian faith and living.
See Psalm 19:7-11, Matthew 4:4, and 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
About God
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and existing eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
See Genesis 1:1, 1:26, Exodus 34:6-7, Deuteronomy 6:4, and Matthew 28:19.
About Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God. He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
See Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 53:1-12, John 1:1-5, 1:14, Colossians 1:15-20, and Hebrews 1:1-4.
About the Holy Spirit
We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit in us is to glorify God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ and during this age to convict people of their sin and need for a Savior, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living, authentic community, and whole life generosity.
See John 16:7-8, Galatians 5:16-26, Titus 3:5-6.
About Satan
We believe that Satan is a created being, a fallen angel, and an enemy of God and people. Satan has been defeated through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and one day will be thrown in the lake of fire.
See Genesis 3:1-5, 3:13-15, 1 Peter 5:8, Revelation 20:7-10.
About Mankind
We believe that all human beings were created in the image of God but fell into sin and are therefore eternally separated from God. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord (heaven), and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment (hell).
See Genesis 1:26-27, John 3:3-8, Romans 3:23-24, Matthew 25:46, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Corinthians 15:50-57, Revelation 20:11-15, and Revelation 21:1-4.
About Salvation
We believe that the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and are born of the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God, and possessing eternal life.
See John 14:6, Acts 4:12, and Ephesians 2:8-9.
About the Church
We believe that the true Church is composed of all people who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. We believe that only those who are members of the true Church are eligible for membership in the local church. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
See 1 Corinthians 12:27, Ephesians 4:11-16, and 1 Peter 5:1-5.
About Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that Water Baptism and Communion are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. It is our practice to baptize by immersion following conversion.
See Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 14:22- 24, Romans 6:3-4, and 1 Corinthians 11:23-30.
About the Second Coming
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom on earth, and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the whole life of the believer.
See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Titus 2:11-14, Revelation 21:1-4, and John 14:1-4.
About Gender
We believe that God creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
See Genesis 1:27-28 and Genesis 2:18-25.
About Marriage
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union as stated in the Bible. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
See Genesis 2:24-25, Matthew 19:3-6, Ephesians 5:22-33, Romans 1:18-32.
